Upload and Download

Uploading and downloading files and folders is the process of storing or retrieving files or sets of files stored in Lockbox.

Upload File or Folder

Every user with full read-write access to a box or folder can upload files and folders to it.

It is not possible to upload files or folders to a read-only folder.

Clients cannot upload files or folders to shared client boxes.

You are always prompted when you attempt to upload a file/folder to a destination that already contains an item of the same name. Be aware that existing files are replaced if you confirm the file upload.

Multiple files and/or folders can be uploaded together with drag and drop. To do so, mark multiple entries by clicking them with the mouse while holding the ‘Ctrl’ key of your keyboard before starting the drag and drop.

Upload using drag and drop

To upload files or folders using drag and drop do the following:

  1. In your operating system’s desktop or file browser, select the file or folder you would like to upload.
  2. Click it with your mouse and keep the mouse button pressed down.
  3. Move the mouse pointer over to the Lockbox client and into the desired destination folder in the file browser pane.

Drag and drop is not supported for file downloads because browser restrictions and limitations in the Java programming language prevent drag and drop actions from Java applications to native applications.
