This section gives an overview of the Lockbox user interface and the main terminology used in this documentation.
GUI Layout
The graphical user interface (GUI) of the Lockbox Client is a file explorer-like interface with menus, toolbars, box navigation and file display areas.
User Roles
Lockbox users assume different roles during their use of Lockbox depending on which box they interact with and which actions they perform on this box. Registered users use the main Lockbox application, while Client users use the Lockbox Portal.
Box Types
Lockbox supports three box types that are tailored to the needs of specific users.
Codes
Lockbox applies two-factor authentication whenever contact between two users is to be established. One factor is typically a unique email address or Lockbox user id, the other factor are authentication codes. Lockbox makes use of a number of authentication codes which are described below.
