The Lockbox login process uses a set of credentials. Credentials are setup when you first register and usually stored locally. Lockbox provides various ways for you to manage and recover your credentials.
Credentials are a unique set of cryptographic keys which are stored in a keystore. The keystore is protected with a passphrase which only you know (and it is never transmitted to Lockbox). The cryptographic keys ensure strong security and privacy of your information and also avoid the use of passwords when sharing.
Before you can use Lockbox, you need to register once in order to create your personal Lockbox credentials. This is essential for Lockbox to guarantee the security and privacy of your information.
Depending on where you keep your personal Lockbox credentials, the Lockbox Client offers different options for you to login.
To protect your security and privacy, Lockbox staff are unable to recover or reset your passphrase. Hence be careful whenever you change your passphrase, refresh your credentials and how you handle credential backups.
Lockbox allows you to choose a trusted party to help you recover your passphrase in the unlikely event that you forget it.
