Lockbox Releases

These Release Notes cover recent changes to the main Lockbox platform. This includes updates and improvements to the Lockbox Java UI (user interface), the Lockbox Client Portal and the core Lockbox Platform.

Lockbox 1.4

Released 4 March 2012 (1.4.1)

• Management - of boxes has been integrated into a single dialog. The dialog includes configuration tabs for "Users", "Clients" and "Portal" as well as "Properties" and "Preferences".
• Contacts - are now separately managed via a new top level "Contacts" menu. The menu shows a red exclamation mark (!) when there are notifications needing attention.
• Invitations - are now more neatly handled including notifications, declining and setting the box alias on acceptance.
• Landing screen - now highlights notifications (e.g. waiting contact requests or invitations).
• Portal - now has more options and auto-sizes to the dimensions of the containing iframe. (So width and height parameters are no longer necessary.)
• History - table is now sortable and shows audit events (e.g. create/delete of client boxes and invite/un-invite of users).
• Email notifications - improved with more detail and separate templates for "make contact" and invitations.
• Menus - have been re-organised, simplified and stylised.
• Startup - screen size and position now defaults to that of the previous session.

Lockbox 1.3

Released 22 December 2011 (1.3.0)

• Make Contact - has been harmonised with invitations. Whenever a new user is invited to a box, a make contact is generated.
• Contact Codes - may now be selected by the user or generated randomly.
• Icons - have been added to most buttons.
• Help - menu now points to online documentation

Lockbox 1.2

Released 18 November 2011 (1.2.0)

• Service Pack - release which rolls-up many minor improvements and API changes.

Lockbox 1.1.8

Released 13 October 2011

• Shared client boxes - may now be setup for read-only files common to all clients
• Menu options - for delegated administrators now more responsive
• Registration - option added to start-up if no local credentials are found
• Manage contacts - list is now sorted

Lockbox 1.1.7

Released 3 September 2011

• Contacts - may now be setup independently as well as via invitations
• Email certificates - can now be exported from "Manage Contacts"
• Credential recovery - can now be facilitated by a trusted user via the "Recovery Box Management" menu item.
• Performance - improved for boxes with very large number of files
• Open file - can now occur by double clicking on a local file in the split window mode

Lockbox 1.1.6

Released 2 July 2011

• Client box creation - can now be delegated to one or more other users in their box
• Invitations - can now be delegated by the owner to one or more other users in their box
• Change owner - can now be invoked via the UI with a request code given by the current box owner to a new box owner

Lockbox 1.1.5

Released 29 April 2011

• User interface - minor improvements
• Client credentials - now automatically rolled-over on expiry

Lockbox 1.1.4

Released 3 March 2011

• User credentials - now automatically rolled-over on expiry
• Performance - improvements made for certificate generation and checking of revocation
• Synchronisation - area for files can now be set in top level menu "Global Preferences"

Lockbox 1.1.3

Released 4 December 2010

• Invitations - have been simplified allowing users to be automatically confirmed into a box
• Lockbox Portal - can link to multiple boxes with client boxes
• Re-registration - is now possible for box owners that have been revoked. To retake control of their boxes, another user of that box can re-invite them back again.
• Windows shortcuts - now resolve to the actual file pointed to by the shortcut

Lockbox 1.1.2

Released 25 June 2010

• Management and Settings - now handled via right click menu and enabled for box owner
• Invitation emails - can now be tailored at the box level
• Notification emails - can now be batched. This allows collecting together of many events if they occur within the given batch interval.

Lockbox 1.1.1

• Box deletion - top level menu item added as well as a "Deleted Box Recovery" option
• Box statistics - now available via right click menu "Properties" of any box in the box hierarchy
• Open file - option added to right click menu in the local directory view of the split pain mode
• History tab - added for each box so that events for any given box can be reviewed
• Email templates - added for notifications and invitations

Lockbox 1.1.0

• Registration - now incorporated into the Lockbox client as a button on the log-in screen
