Lockbox is written in the Java programming language and requires that a Java Runtime Environment is installed on your computer.
Java is commonly used across the Web to enhance the functionality of many Web applications and Web sites. So there is a good chance that Java is already installed on your computer .
Lockbox requires a minimum of Java version 1.5 update 22 However, we strongly recommend to always use the latest Java version.
Please take the time to ensure you have the latest version of Java installed.
Java is free to download and its installation takes only a few moments.
The minimum Java version required by the Lockbox Client is version 1.5 update 22. Note that older Java 1.5 version may cause exceptions that prevent the Lockbox Client from functioning properly.
To verify whether Java is installed on your computer, use the following URL (http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp) and click the ‘Verify Java Version’ button.
It will take a few moments before the page refreshes with information about the currently installed Java version.
If you have the latest Java version installed - congratulations, you are ready to start Lockbox.
If an older Java version was detected, click the ‘Download Java Now’ button and follow the instructions.
If Java is not installed on your computer, click the ‘Free Java Download’ button and follow the instructions.
You may require administration rights on your computer to be able to install Java. Please consult with your system administrator/IT support.
If you do not receive any information about Java on your computer, please refer to the Java troubleshooting tips that are provided on the Web page (http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp).
To make sure that Java is installed correctly on your computer, direct your browser to the URL (http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp) and click the ‘Verify Java Version’ button again.
If Java is installed correctly, you will be prompted with the following message: “Congratulations! You have the recommended Java installed.”
