For 15 years, Jenny Marshall has helped small businesses and sole traders keep their accounts in order. Jenmar is her book-keeping company that provides personalised services such as bookkeeping, office overload, payroll, BAS and GST support, MYOB and Quickbooks sales, installation and training support. Her client base is many and varied and she assists businesses in the hospitality, food retail, retail technology, medical, furniture and banking industries to name a few.

In order for Jenny to manage her clients’ business needs, she must access many files filled with large quantities of data.

“In the past, I would receive lots of emails with huge files attached. It was a painful way of doing business because many of these documents were 10Mb – or larger - so receiving files often caused my email system to crash and bottleneck constantly. Even using Zip folders to reduce file sizes were inconvenient and unzipping them, problematic for some clients.”

Solution

After receiving a timely marketing piece, Marshall began using Lockbox as a way to receive and share files via her company web site. Using their existing browser, the username she allocates for them and their password, her clients can now send large files – with no size limitations - containing business information and records quickly without the hassles of traditional email.

As the installation of Lockbox required adding only one line of HTML code to the Jenmar website, the time saving potential was immediately obvious.

“It took minutes to install and not long at all to brief clients on my new method of sharing files.”

All a Jenmar client has to do to send her their documents is log on to Lockbox directly via a link on the front page of the Jenmar website and upload any information they want to share. A message is then sent to their bookkeeper to alert her to the new contents.

“My clients are happy because the process is so simple and they are pleased they don’t have to navigate zip files anymore. I’m thrilled I get large files quickly without my server crashing and I don’t waste any time trouble-shooting technology issues.”

Lockbox has also made collaborating with her employees more efficient.
